Life - One Big Project #1, Take Two

15 September 2008 No Comment

The easy thing about this is I don’t have to make a new list. The difficult thing is that I still have the same two projects that I need to start and finish.

Respect Myself - Read a book: Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

This one hurt because I really am excited about reading this book. I couldn’t justify sitting down and treating myself when I knew I had so much other work to do. Recently, I started attending a Bible study and of course that means more reading. Maybe, I will make reading this book my reward for completing my lesson each day. At least I started it, but I want to be done because I already have other books being added to my list that I am looking forward to reading.

Respect My Environment - Cleaning Our Office/Classroom

The cleaning started well several times. On some days, I was able to see my desk better than on others. At other times, one area of the room was neater giving the appearance of done, but not so. It’s not like the room is extremely large. It’s big enough for me to do what I need to do (except clean). I’m caught between cleaning, giving away/reusing/recycling vs. throwing away. I think what I will do is make some piles (NO MORE PILES PLEEEAASSEE!). You’ve seen the organization shows where they show people how to organize, reduce personal consumption, etc. I mean, really. How many of these items can I ever really use? Most of this stuff wasn’t here when we moved here. It is “stuff” I’ve accumulated since we have been here and a lot of it doesn’t get used. Announcement! New plan! I am going to make three piles: Pile #1 - Keep, Pile #2 - Uh, duh, uh (this one always gets me in trouble), and the last Pile #3 - Get Rid Of (donate, etc.). I won’t bore you with pictures, but if you need to get an idea from where I’m starting, then take a look. Check back with me next month to see how I did. This time, it will get done because I have too much more work to do.
